Originally from Tacoma Washington Josiah Wombacher, the youngest of four children, has been immersed in creative spaces all his life. As a son of an art teacher and photographer he grew up being challenged creatively. His passion for art has led him to work with new mediums including painting, drawing, clay, photography and film.
Currently he is (still) working on his senior thesis “Slitzweitz” a stop motion animation film about a retired garden gnome who grows flowers in the woods named Lars.
Josiah is not afraid to challenge himself and take risks with his work, constantly trying to ways of creating with different mediums. “I believe art derives meaning from time, space, process, medium, history and the artists personhood. To not utilize one of these starves your art from a greater depth of meaning.”
